So, you’ve decided to build a website in your niche and you have a lot of the design and creation under way. You have an auto responder, you’ve hired people to do encryption and you have a shopping cart. You already have enough content to fill your site, and you put in a great combination of multimedia aspects to make your site all the more interesting. You’ve chosen your prices, secured your domain name and set up your web hosting. You even have a plan ready to substitute for other plans just in case the others fall through. In other words, you’ve been working hard and now you’re ready for the big bucks to start rolling in. What more do you need? You need traffic, that’s what.

The first thing you need to look at is your search engine optimization. There are words that people type in the search bar more often than others. You have to find out what these keywords are. If you decide to generate traffic through search engine optimization, planning your traffic generation scheme will entail finding phrases within your niche which have a high demand (aggregate search value) and a low supply (small amount of competing sites). After doing this, you can really start using the keywords to run campaigns.

If, for instance, you decide to generate traffic through pay per click (PPC) programs, such as Adwords, planning your campaign will entail tuning a number of different pages to fit the keywords you are purchasing.

This is one of the main reasons why web masters who do promotions through PPC fail to get the results they want: they don’t tweak it for the audience they want to attract.

If you have a product, there are so many types of people that would need it. A landing page should speak directly to your customer. Create a landing page for the groups of people who are bound to like your product or service. Doing this will increase the traffic on your site because your viewers are not clicking away thinking they wen to a wrong page or there was some mistake. PPC promotion to create traffic also entails using several landing pages to know which ones stick, and to find out the exact reasons why customers keep coming back to your site.

Lastly, you can try article marketing to warm up your potential leads before they even reach your landing page. You can publish articles that talk about your site on other places online.
